Nee, volgens mij speelt Holdsworth alleen mee op hun laatste 3 albums. Maar toen was het al niet echt Soft Machine meer. (het werd een zooitje met al die personeels-wisselingen)

Album 1 t/m 6 zijn eigenlijk de 'echte' Soft platen.

Ok, thanks. Ik ken wel wat losse nummers van ze, ik zal ze eens checken.

Toch maar stiekem "Bundles" van ze aan t checken, omdat Holdsworth daar op speelt. De puristen zeggen al "dit is niet de echte Soft Machine meer" etc, maar ik ga er onbevooroordeeld in en t is niet slecht. Voor mij vooral interessant om te horen wat en hoe hij hier speelt.

Toch maar stiekem "Bundles" van ze aan t checken, omdat Holdsworth daar op speelt. De puristen zeggen al "dit is niet de echte Soft Machine meer" etc, maar ik ga er onbevooroordeeld in en t is niet slecht. Voor mij vooral interessant om te horen wat en hoe hij hier speelt.

Je moet het zo zien, je hebt als het ware twee Soft Machine bands, de Ratledge/Hopper/Wyatt-periode (met 'Third' als beste plaat, vind ik), en de Jenkins/Marshall-periode waar ook Holdsworth meedoet.

Maar Holdsworth is gewoon een zeer smaakvolle gitarist, en die latere platen zijn ook gewoon prima. Ik kende hem alleen van Bill Bruford's band, en U.K. (moet ook wel als Crimson-fanaat zijnde), ik was verrast dat hij ook bij Soft machine gespeeld had.

OK, back on topic,

King Crimson, te gek, nog 2x live gezien, erg goed. U.K. en Bill Bruford ook te gek uiteraard, helaas nooit live gezien

Het nieuwe album van David Bowie: The Next Day. Al zo ongeveer de ziljoenste keer en ik word steeds verliefder. Prachtig hoe deze man nooit saai wordt.

Die moet ik nog checken ja. Vind bijna alles van m goed tot zeer goed.

Zeker doen! Het is erg de moeite waard. Het is wel weer erg poppy en dat is niet mijn smaak, maar ja, he has the golden touch.

Net als Tom Waits. Die zet ik nu dan maar gauw aan.

...ik heb toch alsnog het genie Miles Davis ontdekt! wat een platen!

Ook ik ben Miles Davis aan het ontdekken, Round About Midnight is een erg goede plaat ook met drummer Philly Joe Jones.
