Seculiere christelijke muziek

Je hebt seculiere bands die muziek maken met christelijke thema's.

Dat kan omdat toevallig de schrijver van het nummer met geloof bezig is. Het kan ook omdat het een cover is van een liedje. Of omdat het verhaal gewoon aanspreekt, om de reden dat bijv. ze ook een lied over een mythe, sprookje of over de geschiedenis zouden maken.

Wat ik dus niet bedoel zijn liedjes van bands die willen evangeliseren of het geloof als band willen uitdragen.

Ik bedoel ook niet bands die graag tegen religie willen aan trappen of satanistische liederen maken.

Doel van dit topic:

Je kunt je mening geven wat je er van vindt als seculiere bands zingen over het christendom.

Maar het leek me zelf wel leuk om wat van die liedjes onder de loep te nemen. Te kijken waar die tekst over gaat en of je alles wel even theologisch juist vindt enzo.

Nou, ik begin met een liedje. Omdat liedjes enzo niet altijd een vertaling moeten hebben post ik hem maar ff in het engels. Ook omdat ik liedjes vertalen wat jammer vind. Maar als er een vertaling moet komen, dan hoor ik het wel.

Dit is een nummer van Blind Guardian. (Eén van m'n favoriete bands) Die maken veel nummers over mythes, legendes, fantasy verhalen en andere verhalen.

Ik heb net de clip van Cryptopsy - The Pestilence That Walketh In Darkness (Psalm 91:5-8)gekeken. De tekst is opzich wel prima natuurlijk, maar in die clip is denk ik een parodie van de eucharisatie te zien waar de hosties plaats hebben gemaakt voor wormen. Natuurlijk was Lord Worm toentertijd de zanger, maar ik vind dit toch een beetje jammer...

Het ging hier juist om bands die niet christelijk zijn en toch christelijke teksten hadden (zover ik het het begrepen). Impending Doom is christelijke deathcore (!= melodische metal).
