Maar ik begreep dat sommigen wel bekend zijn met Theocracy hè? In korte tijd een favoriete muziekgroep van me geworden. In christelijke muziek - of muziek met christelijke achtergrond of boodschap - vind ik het belangrijk dat het mooi klinkt natuurlijk, maar ook dat de lyrics mooi in elkaar zitten. Om meteen wat clichés op tafel te gooien; ik vind Psalmen eloquent geschreven, maar worden te weinig passievol gezongen, en Opwekking wordt wel met overtuiging gezongen maar vind ik de lyrics soms wat eentonig van. Enter metal Nee maar goed, ik vind het gaaf van bijv. Theocracy dus dat ze gewoon toffe muziek maken - kwestie van smaak uiteraard - maar tevens gewoon dichtelijke lyrics hebben "I am your covenant - your hero in these bloodstained pages I am your guilt, your sin, your debt fulfilled for all the ages I step into your shoes, your substitute Your sacrifice Your raison d'etre Your second chance Your breath of life I AM I am the joy of angels dancing in the streets of heaven I am the sinner's prayer for mercy and a past forgiven I am the lamb upon the altar dying willingly All hope that was All hope that is All hope to be I AM!" En een van de weinige bands die al hun songs wel opdraagd aan de Heer. Als je van power metal houdt, dan zijn Narnia en Divinefire ook twee groten in de christelijke metal wereld!
